Cultivating Quality
From Kenya to Global Markets

Karre’s Valley Ltd is a Kenyan agricultural export company delivering premium avocados and coffee through ethical sourcing, farmer partnerships, and international quality standards.

Rooted in Kenya's Fertile Valleys

Karre's Valley Ltd was born from Kenya's fertile highlands, where generations of farmers have cultivated some of the world's finest coffee and avocados. Nestled in the volcanic soils of the Great Rift Valley at altitudes ranging from 1,400 to 2,100 meters above sea level, our partner farms benefit from Kenya's unique microclimates, abundant rainfall, and year-round sunshine—creating ideal conditions for premium agricultural production.

We recognized a growing global demand for traceable, responsibly sourced produce and the opportunity to connect Kenyan farmers directly to international markets. Founded in response to the challenges faced by smallholder farmers in accessing fair prices and export markets, we've built a network of over 500+ farming families across central and western Kenya.

Kenyan Farms

Today, Karre's Valley serves as a bridge between smallholder growers and global buyers, ensuring quality, transparency, and consistency in every shipment. Through strategic partnerships, strict quality control, and sustainable sourcing practices, we ensure that every export reflects the richness of Kenya's agricultural heritage. Our integrated supply chain management system tracks every product from farm to port, ensuring complete traceability and compliance with international food safety standards including GlobalGAP, SMETA, and organic certifications.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about partnering with Karre's Valley

What certifications do your farms and facilities hold?

Our partner farms and processing facilities hold multiple international certifications including GlobalGAP (Good Agricultural Practices), SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit), and various organic certifications. We also work with Fair Trade certified cooperatives and maintain traceability systems compliant with EU, US, and Asian market requirements. All documentation is available upon request for verification.

What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?

For avocados, our minimum order is typically one 40ft reefer container (approximately 20-22 tons or 5,000-5,500 4kg cartons). For coffee, the MOQ is usually 10 tons (approximately 167 bags of 60kg each). However, we're open to discussing smaller trial orders for new partnerships. LCL (Less than Container Load) options may be available depending on shipping schedules and destination.

How do you ensure cold chain integrity during shipping?

Our cold chain management begins immediately after harvest. Avocados are pre-cooled to 5-7°C within 4-6 hours, then transported in refrigerated trucks to our packing facility. Containers are pre-cooled before loading and equipped with continuous temperature monitoring devices. We use reputable shipping lines with proven track records. Temperature logs are maintained throughout transit and shared with clients. Our rejection rate due to cold chain failures is less than 0.5%.

Can you provide samples before placing a bulk order?

Yes, we offer sample shipments for serious buyers. For coffee, we can send 1-5kg samples via courier for cupping and quality evaluation. For avocados, we can arrange small air freight samples (subject to availability and season) or include you in an existing shipment with proper documentation. Sample costs and shipping fees are typically borne by the buyer but can be credited against first commercial orders.

What are your payment terms?

For new clients, we typically work with Letter of Credit (L/C) at sight or advance payment terms. Established partners may qualify for L/C with deferred payment (14 days) or other mutually agreed terms. We accept payment via bank transfer (T/T), confirmed L/C from reputable banks, and in some cases, escrow services. Specific terms are negotiated based on order volume, relationship history, and destination country.

What documentation do you provide with each shipment?

Every shipment includes: Phytosanitary Certificate from Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service (KEPHIS), Certificate of Origin, Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading/Airway Bill, Quality Inspection Report, Laboratory Test Results (pesticide residue, dry matter for avocados), Traceability Documentation linking to source farms, Temperature monitoring logs, and relevant certifications (GlobalGAP, Organic, Fair Trade as applicable). Additional documentation can be provided as per importing country requirements.

What happens if there are quality issues upon arrival?

We stand behind our quality commitments. If issues arise, we require: (1) Immediate notification within 24 hours of container discharge (2) Independent third-party survey report documenting the issue (3) Photographic evidence and temperature logs. We investigate all claims thoroughly and work toward fair resolution, which may include credit notes, replacement shipments, or financial compensation depending on the nature and cause of the problem. Our quality claim rate is under 2%, and we resolve 95% of claims within 30 days.

Are your products available year-round?

Hass avocados are available twice a year from our network of farms across different micro-climates.Kenyan coffee has two main harvest seasons: the main crop (October-December) and the fly crop (May-July), but we maintain stock to supply throughout the year. We provide harvest calendars to help clients plan their procurement schedules and can discuss forward contracts for guaranteed year-round supply.
